New Features

There are two new features available in the MonsterCommerce software with the v4.2.1 release: The PayPal Website Payments Pro integration and a Checkout Conversion Report.

PayPal Website Payments Pro Integration

The new payment solution from PayPal, Website Payments Pro, is now integrated in the MonsterCommerce Storefront. This integration includes two payment methods: PayPal Express Checkout and PayPal Direct Payment. The two payment solutions are now listed in the Admin Panel under Order Processing >> Online Payment Manager.

View the QuickGuide for full details on the PayPal Website Payments Pro integration with the MonsterCommerce storefront.

To implement PayPal Express Checkout you need:
  • A Premier or Business PayPal account.
  • Configure API Authorization for your PayPal account.
  • Display the Cart contents at the bottom of Checkout.
  • Configure Express Checkout as a payment method in your MonsterCommerce Admin Panel.
To implement the PayPal Direct Payment gateway you need:
  • A Business PayPal account.
  • Configure API Authorization for your PayPal account.
  • Enable Express Checkout on your MonsterCommerce site.
  • Display the Cart contents at the bottom of Checkout.
  • Configure Direct Payment as your payment gateway in the MonsterCommerce Admin Panel.

Visit PayPal's website for more information on the benefits and features of the Website Payments Pro solution.

Note: The existing PayPal integration is still supported within the MonsterCommerce software. References to this solution within the Online Payment Manager of the Admin Panel has been updated to PayPal Standard to reflect the PayPal naming convention.

Checkout Conversion Report

The Checkout Conversion Report allows a Store Admin to track, for a specific checkout settings combination, how many times checkout is entered versus the number of complete orders received. This report can be used to review trends in the conversion rate of specific combinations of checkout settings to estimate which combination yields the highest number of completed orders. By comparing the trend data from one time period to another the Store Admin can infer which changes to checkout settings and design changes result in the highest number of converted checkouts.

The data used to generate the Checkout Conversion Report has been collected since the release of v4.2 and the introduction of the 2-Step and 4-Step Checkout options. To access the report, log in to the Admin Panel and navigate to Reports >> Conversion Reports >> Checkout Conversion Report.

View the QuickGuide for full details on the Checkout Conversion Report elements.

Note: If your site had the following combination of settings enabled, the data for this report was not collected correctly. Therefore any checkout entries/completions during the timeframe that this combination of settings was enabled will not be reflected in the Checkout Conversion Report. This data collection issue has been resolved in the v4.2.1 release.
