Release Overview
The v4.2.1 software update is scheduled for release on Monday, November
14th. The update will begin at 11:50 pm CST and be completed by 4:00 am
Tuesday, November 15th. This software update includes new features, usability
improvements to the new Checkout workflow, and corrections to known issues.
There are three sections to this document: Release Overview, New Features, Usability Enhancements. Use the navigation links at the bottom of the page to browse each section.
New Functionality Added
With version 4.2 the new Checkout workflow and options added even more flexibility to the design of your MonsterCommerce storefront. In response to the client feedback on the 4.2 release, the v4.2.1 release includes some further enhancements to the new Checkout.
- PayPal Website Payments Pro Integration
- Two new payment method options from PayPal for customers that use
PayPal for payments as well as those customers that do not.
- Checkout Conversion Report
- Trend information on which configuration of Checkout Settings result in the largest number of completed checkouts.
Enhancements to the Checkout Functionality
With version 4.2 the new Checkout workflow and options added even more flexibility to the design of your MonsterCommerce storefront. In response to the client feedback on the 4.2 release, the v4.2.1 release includes some further enhancements to the new Checkout.
- Hide the Checkout Navigation Steps
- A setting has been added to allow Store Admins to display or hide
the Checkout Navigation Steps at the top of each page of Checkout.
- Select Default option for Billing to be Same as Shipping Address
- A setting has been added to allow Store Admins to select "Yes"
or "No" as the default selection for the "Billing Address
is Same as Shipping Address" option in Checkout.
- Changed Location of the Customer Email Address
- The display of the Email Address field has been separated into a new
customizable section below the Shipping Address fields.
- Display Selected Custom Methods above Real-Time Rates
- A new option for Custom Shipping Methods that enables Store Admins
to show one or more Custom Shipping Methods on the page at the same
time as the rates for the default Real-Time Carrier are displayed.
Resolved Known Issues
The v4.2.1 release also addressed a set of priority issues, some are highlighted below. For the full list of known issues resolved in this release visit the Version History section of the Knowledge Base.
- 2870 Styles - old styles are not being written to style.css the same as they were prior to 4.2
- 2912 Order Editor - Indicate if customer is a Guest or Registered customer
- 2935 Side cart - Shipping calculator Side cart shipping calculator does not pull rates for zip codes start with 0 if method is set for US only
- 2970 Authorize.net - post 4.2 - product information is no longer sent to authorize.net
- 2982 Order Editor - New Orders - Paypal orders remain red after completed checkout
