Release Overview

The v4.2.2 software update is scheduled for release on Monday, January 9th. The update will begin at 11:50 pm CST and be completed by 4:00 am Tuesday, January 10th. The software update includes new features, usability enhancements to the software, and corrections to known issues.

There are three sections to this document: Release Overview, New Features, and Usability Enhancements. Use the navigation links at the bottom of the page to browse each section.

New Functionality Added

Previous 4.2.x releases have focused on adding new flexibility to the design of the MonsterCommerce storefront. In response to the client feedback on the 4.2 and the v4.2.1 releases, the version 4.2.2 release will give added usability to the system. This will allow store owners to have more control over their storefronts.

Resend Order Email
A button has been added to allow Store Admins to resend order emails to the email address listed within the order editor using the same settings as the automated emails sent after completed checkouts.
Display Category Navigation Trail
A setting has been added to give Store Admins control over the display of Category Navigation Trails (breadcrumbs) on Category and Product pages.
Hide Shipping Calculator
A setting has been added to allow Store Admins to display or hide the Shipping Calculator from the Side Shopping Cart or the View Cart Details page.
Display Thumbnails within Cart Display in Checkout
A setting has been added to allow Store Admins to display or hide Product Thumbnail Images from the cart display within the checkout pages.

Enhancements to the Storefront Usability

With version 4.2.2 MonsterCommerce has added the following new features to enhance the overall usability of the software.

My Account Log Off Link
A "Log Off" link has been added to the Navigation Bar of the My Account pages, giving storefront customers the ability to log off at anytime.
Email A Friend - Send to Multiple Addresses
When using the "Email A Friend" option storefront customers may now send to multiple email addresses.
 

Resolved Known Issues

The v4.2.2 release also addressed a set of known issues, some are highlighted below. For the full list of known issues resolved in this release visit the Version History section of the Knowledge Base.

  • 84       Product Detail Page - Missing close of table cell at bottom of page
  • 86       Newsletter Subscription - Confirmation message does not use the SiteText font
  • 129     Basic & Advanced Search - Display text that no products found when search criteria returns no matching results
  • 316     Email a Friend - Apply font styles to Email a Friend page
  • 530     Product Detail - Additional Info Link - href does not use standard class, font size is hard coded
  • 1452   2Checkout - Funds are not being transferred from MonsterCommerce to 2Checkout
  • 1754   Theme Builder - Grammatical error within the warning pop up message when users modify site theme
  • 1826   Print Invoice - First Name and Last Name label field not displayed correctly
  • 2163   Product Group - Email product group to a friend displays blank page
  • 2973   CyberSource - Uploading p12 file produces 404 error
  • 2998   LinkPoint API - Uploading pem file produces 404 error
  • 3144   Conversion Report - Creating a csv file with data causes an internal error
  • 3154   PayPal Express Checkout - URL Redirection to MC site when Cancel on PayPal does not work
