Release Notes: Version 4.5 Software Update
Wish Lists
The version 4.5 software update will include a basic version of the Wish List feature. Wish Lists allow registered customers the ability to create a list of products they would like to purchase, or have purchased for them, from your store. This update will see the introduction of the Wish List feature, future releases will see this expanded upon.
Wish List Settings
You can enable the Wish List feature through . A new option has been added, "Enable Wish List", which will be set to "No" by default. Select "Yes" from the drop down menu and click the "Save" button to turn this feature on.
Add to Wish List button
When the Wish List has been enabled a new button will appear on all Product Detail pages. The "Add to Wish List" button will display directly beneath your "Buy/Add to Cart" button.
The "Add to Wish List" button will also display on the Product List pages and Home Page Specials if the "Buy" button is displayed. The "Display "Buy" button on Product List Pages" option is found from .
The Wish List button has been updated for all current Storefront Button Themes. You will have the option to create your own custom Wish List button to match your custom button theme.
Registration & Login
Products may only be added to Wish Lists by Registered Customers. If a visitor to your store adds a product to their Wish List and they are NOT logged in they will be redirected to the login page.
When a customer has logged and a product is added to their Wish List, they will receive a pop-up message notifying them the product was added.
Managing Wish Lists
Wish Lists are accessed through the "My Account" section of the storefront for each customer. When a customer logs in to your store a "Wish List" menu link is now available.
Customers will have the option to add products to their cart, update the number of products on their Wish Lists, and remove items from their Wish Lists.
Note: When a product is added to the cart and purchased from a Wish List it will NOT be deleted from the Wish List. Products must be manually removed from the Wish List at this time.
Email Wish Lists to Friends
Your customers will also have the option to email their Wish Lists to friends. By clicking on the "Email Wish List to a Friend" link they will open the email form. Their email address will be automatically populated using the address from their profile.
The emails sent will include the Product Names, Price Per Item, and the Quantity for each product on the list. The Product Names will link to the Product Details page for each product.
