How does the site setup process work?
Granted that every site is different, our process has been developed to work with your site!
Initial Site Setup Consultation
After electing to have MonsterCommerce complete your site setup, we will schedule a site setup consultation. This session will typically take about 30 to 60 minutes and will be an interview session of how to setup your site for you. We will go through the major components of your web site to help you in getting this setup complete. The major elements covered are payment options, shipping options, and checkout configuration. During this session we will also cover the design elements of your setup including the default template that you want, the font for your site and the column layout. The final aspect of this session is to gather the source of your product information.
Product Upload
Once the initial site setup consultation is complete, we will have obtained the source of your product information. This could be from either an existing web site, from an export of that site or a pricing list from a supplier. We will begin to work with information immediately to get it properly formatted and uploaded to your site. Product images will be uploaded to the site and referenced as supplied in the product information that we get from you.
Site Configuration
To help you in getting your site going we will provide basic design assistance. This will include the application of a default template, the font for your site and the layout of your columns. Much of this is covered in the initial setup consultation with the exception of your site’s logo and/or slogan. We will need to obtain this information from you so that we can apply it to your site’s header as needed.
Follow up Consultation
To this point MonsterCommerce has been in the driver’s seat in getting your setup complete. At this stage of the project your settings have been discussed, your product uploaded and your design configured. The final step is to put you in the driver’s seat. This is completed with this consultation. You will receive a one-on-one session with one of our top MonsterCommerce specialists. This session covers virtually all of the areas and functionality of our administration panel.
How long does this process take?
The main determinants in getting your site completed are the number products you are going to have and your availability. We strive to have first contact with you same or next business day of signing up for this service. The first contact will provide for a general introduction and to schedule your initial consultation. After this is setup your project is typically completed within 5 business days.
