MonsterDataPort v5.x

What is DataPort?
MonsterDataPort is a live data feed that sends information from your desktop to your online storefront. This tool allows you to import and export bulk data to and from a CSV spreadsheet. In addition, it will provide you with Third Party order and product feeds.

 

With DataPort you can update:

  • Product Information
    Create new products or update existing products in bulk.
  • Customer Profiles
    Manage your customer list including tax free and newsletter status.
  • Order Status & Tracking Information
    Export your order information for bulk updates of order status or tracking information. Or use the custom order export formats to pull order information for import into a third-party shipping or order management tool.
  • Shipping Integration
    Pull shipping and order information directly into popular third party applications, such as Endicia (Dazzle), TrueShip, and UPS WorldShip. Saving time and improving the accuracy of your shipping labels.
  • State/Province Tax and Zip Tax Information
    Perform bulk imports of State tax and Zip tax information from CSV spreadsheets into your online storefront.
  • Product Feeds for 3rd Party Applications
    Export product information and create 3rd Party product feeds for applications such as: Shopzilla (BizRate), Google Base, and Froogle.

Security Notes:
  • DataPort 5.0 does not allow Credit Card numbers to be exported per PCI compliance. If your site is PCI compliant, and this was specified when your configured your store, you will be allowed to view these numbers. If you did not specify this during configuration, then only the masked card number will display. Visit MonsterCommerce.com for more information on CISP regulations and PCI compliance.
  • Customer passwords will not be exported or displayed in DataPort 5.0. If you offer customers the option to register on your site and create a profile to use later, they will enter a username and password. DataPort will not download or display this password within the Customer information. This is done to protect your customer’s privacy and make it more difficult for other users to access sensitive profile information.

Sign up for DataPort 5.0!   Contact us by calling our 24/7 Technical Support department at 800.353.6582 or create a ticket requesting that DataPort be added to your site. A monthly charge of $19.95 will be applied to your MonsterCommerce account.

Which Manual and Support Materials should I use?
The Manual and related support Materials that you use depend on the version of MonsterDataPort that you are running. MonsterDataPort v5.x was released on June 17th, 2006, if you signed up for MonsterDataPort after this date you are running version 5.x and should use the support documents directly below. If you signed up for MonsterDataPort prior to June 17th, 2006 and have not run the free upgrade to version 5.x you should use the 4.x support documents further down on this page. If you had version 4.x of MonsterDataPort prior to June 17th, 2006, a FREE upgrade to version 5.x is available from the Admin Panel of your store.

If you are not sure what version of MonsterDataPort you have you can find the version information from the "Help" menu when you open your MonsterDataPort program.
