To display both the dynamic features of the cart, such as Search and Browse by Category, in addition to your own custom HTML, what you need to do is change your settings under HTML > Left/Right Column HTML Editors to use the display option "Use Default and Custom." This will allow you to keep all auto generated content, and also display whatever custom HTML you add within this area. We provide a variety of free images.
