There are a variety of instances when EITHER incorrect category navigation is displayed or category navigation is not displayed when it should be within the Product Detail page.
Note: The page Title tag will also be affected if the Category Navigation trail is incorrectly calculated.
A few scenarios where Category Navigation displays incorrectly are:
a) Customer is in the View Cart Details page and clicks on the product name link for one of the products in their cart.
-- The category navigation for the last product visited is displayed. When a customer opens a Product Detail page from within the View Cart Details page NO category navigation should be visible.
b) Customer browses a few products on the site and then selects to view a manufacturer name in the Manufacturer dropdown. Customer clicks to view Product Details for a product within the manufacturer results.
-- The category navigation for the last product visited is displayed. When a customer opens a Product Detail page from within the Manufacturer product list NO category navigation should be visible.
c) A product has Related Products. When the customer clicks to view one of the related products, the category navigation for the original product is displayed.

This issue is resolved with the version 4.4.0 release.
Intermediate Category Navigation display issues will no longer occur.
