A modification was made to the shopping cart software that places a cap on the number of emails a storeowner can send through our Newsletter Administration menu. The maximum number of newsletter emails that the software will now send is 1,000.
This change - while inconvenient for some storeowners - was imperative to the overall success of the shared hosting environment. Our servers and systems are not configured to manage mass mailings...this causes problems with ISPs, mail services, etc. who monitor and flag large batches of email as spam. The email problems some of our customers experienced earlier this year was caused by this very thing. Also, the load that mass emails places on our servers presents performance problems including slow loading times for shared customers.
With the release of this email limit, the MC software now includes a new menu option which enables store owners to export customer first name, last name, and email address into a CSV file for import into an external Newsletter Management service.
