your HTML Catalog.
Getting Started

more visually appealing pages. Login to your Admin Panel and go to Plug-Ins
>> Search Engine Optimizer and click the “Customize SEO Catalog” button.
Customizing the Top and Bottom HTML
Using the WYSIWYG button or the HTML editing window, create custom HTML for
both the top and bottom of your catalog display pages here.
Customizing your Individual Product Pages
Below are two figures that represent your Product Editor (fig.2)
and the HTML Catalog page (fig.1) generated by our software. Each
section of the HTML catalog page corresponds to an editable area within the
main Product Editor page of your administration panel on your site
Using our guide, you'll easily be able to see what areas of your Product
Editor affect your HTML catalog page generated by the system.
Field Descriptions
- Product Name
- The Product Name is the most important field in optimizing
your page to get maximum traffic to your site, think of it as the phrase
customers will search for to find your products in the search engines.
The Product Name is displayed in 4 different areas of
the HTML Catalog page for that product. Although your product may be a
vending machine, you'll want to think of a keyword phrase to use instead of
just “Vending Machine” for your Product Name. For example
we used “Candy and Gumball Vending Machine” for our Product Name,
which is more likely to be found by search engines than just using “Vending
Machines” for our Product Name. Be sure to use at least
3 to 4 keywords in your Product Name field.
- Short Description
- The Short Description is also an important field in
optimizing your web page for search engines. The Short Description
appears below the main heading text on the page, it's the second line
of text on that page that your customer will read. Be sure to include
a brief, but accurate description of that product. Also, be sure to include
a few keyword phrases in the Short Description as well.
- Long Description
- The Long Description is another important field in
optimizing your product page. The Long Description appears
on the left side the page next to the main product image. This field accepts
HTML as well as standard text, and should be used to describe your product
in full detail. Be sure to include any relevant information about that
product, as well as any keyword phrases that help describe that product
and it's uses.
- Customer Price
- The Customer Price is the price that's displayed below
the Long Description of your product. This is the actual price the customer
will have to pay to purchase the item(s).
- Manufacturer Name
- The Mfg Name is displayed below the buy link on your
page. Simply enter the name of the manufacturer of that particular product
and it will display in your catalog exactly as it appears in that field.
- Selected Categories - Related Products
- The Selected Categories displays as a group of Related
Product links to other product pages in your store. Up to 5 more
products that are included in the “Gumball Vending” category will show
up on that page as links to your store, allowing customers to easily view
other Related Products on your site. These links are
generated automatically by the system based on the main category of the
product and requires no input or editing on your part.
- Images
- The Image that is displayed in the catalog page is
the same as the full size image for that product. By clicking the Image
tab from the main product editor page, you can upload a new image or leave
the desisting one there, as well as entering in the “Image Alt Title,”
which is seen when a customer hovers over the image with their mouse. This
also aids in the optimization of your HTML catalog page for that product.
