Global Settings

This section provides the ability to change all settings that determine the functionality of your checkout as well as customize specific labels of the different sections within Checkout.

Two-Step or Four-Step Checkout

This setting allows the Store Admin to switch between 2-Step checkout and 4-Step checkout.

Allow Guests to Checkout

This setting allows the Store Admin to specify if a Customer needs to create a Customer account with the site to checkout. If set to yes, a customer can checkout without specifying a Username and Password. If set to no, a customer must create a customer account during checkout by specifying a Username and Password. Please refer to the Customer Summary Quickguide for more information.

Allow Registered Users to Checkout

This setting allows the Store Admin to specify if customers can log in to their accounts or register an Customer Account during checkout. If set to yes, a Customer can log in to their accounts on the Login step of checkout or register for a new account through New Customer section of checkout step 1. If set to no, the Login step of checkout will not display; therefore, a Customer cannot login nor register for a Customer Account during checkout. Please refer to the Customer Summary Quickguide for more information.

Display Checkout Navigation Steps

This setting allows the Store Admin to specify whether or not the navigational steps are displayed during the checkout process.

Display Cart Contents throughout Checkout

This setting, when set to yes, displays the Shopping Cart contents on the bottom of each checkout step.

Display Customer's IP Address During Checkout Process

This setting, when set to yes, will display the customer's IP address during checkout.

Display Option to Add Me to Mailing List

This setting, when set to yes, will display the Add Me to Mailing List option during checkout. If the customer logs in during checkout, this option will not be displayed.

Display Special Instructions During Checkout Process

This setting, when set to yes, displays the Special Instructions text box during checkout.

Email Address Field is Optional During Checkout Process

This setting allows the Store Admin to specify if email address is an optional field during checkout.

Charge Tax Based on Billing and Shipping Address

This setting allows the Store Admin to specify whether to charge taxes off the billing address or the shipping address.

Gift Certificates Can Apply Towards Shipping & Tax Charges

This setting allows the Store Admin to specify if Gift Certificate can also pay for tax and shipping charges.

Return Real-time UPS Residential Rates

This setting, when set to yes, will calculate UPS shipping rates based on residential rates. If set to no, then the UPS shipping rates will be based on commercial rates.

Billing Address is Same as Shipping Address

This setting controls what option is selected when a customer enters checkout. If this is set to Default to Yes then Yes for Billing Address is Same as Shipping Address will be automatically selected when a customer enters checkout. If a registered customer enters checkout No will always be automatically selected.

The Global Settings tab also provides the ability to customize all Labels throughout the Checkout Process. The new Labels and default text that will be displayed are listed below.

Location: Top of the login section on the login step of checkout
