Before you can optimize your site, you need to know which keyword phrases you would like to target. Analyze your site and research your targeted audience. Knowing which phrases to go after is crucial for your overall optimization. If the chosen keywords are too competitive, you may be indexed dozens of pages deep, literally, “lost in cyberspace.”
Once your main keyword phrases are decided, it is important to name your Categories accordingly.
To add your Categories, log into your admin panel and click on Inventory >> Category Manager
Based on how your visitors will shop and search, include your target phrases in your category names.
Once your categories are created, you are ready to add your products.
To add your Products, log into your admin panel and click on Inventory >> Product Manager
When creating your products, give them specific and detailed names. For example: “Brand Name Stiletto High Heels”. The product name becomes the Title of that ASP page (which is essential for search engine placement).
Enter 10 to 50 keyword phrases into this box. Separate the phrases with a comma.
In your long description add as much related content as possible: 200 - 400 words will help fill this page out.
Once your site is ready to go live, enable your Search Engine Optimizer. Log into your admin panel and click on Plug-Ins >> Search Engine Optimizer
